Week 3

Forgiving

Day 13 - Repent & Believe the Good News

Truly mean & feel sorry; turning away from our Sin.

Day 14 - Let anyone of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone

Everyone faces sins constantly especially elevated ones; we need to keep these in check & constantly talk with God about these elevated Sins.

Day 15 - Judge Not

Grace - God calls us to live a life like Jesus.

Why do you notice the speck of sawdust in your Brother's eye when you've got a plank in your own eye?

New Goal for Churches

  • Embracing people for who they are?

  • Stop trying to change people & accept them for who they are?

  • It's the Spirit's Job to change us, not others.

Day 16 - Merciful

Practice of Revenge: Revenge is a common, "neutral" aspect in our secular culture much like masturbation; seen as weird if you don't do this while being wronged.

Two Approaches of Revenge

  • Direct Approach: If you do something bad to me, I'm going to get you back! Eye for an Eye!

  • Indirect Approach: You hurt me, I'll show you by one upping you! Come back in HS Reunions!

Endless mercy from Jesus for us! He doesn't work that way!

  • Grace: Gift not Deserved.

  • Mercy: Not to receive something Deserved.

Day 17 - Forgive others their Trespasses

It's worse holding onto things that keep us from being who God created us to be.

Forgiveness: Let go of something & give it to God!

There is nothing that can be done to us or against us that he cannot forgive?

  • Forgetting: Something that alone time takes care of.

  • Forgiveness: An act of volition that only the sufferer can make.

Day 18 - Love your Enemies & Pray for Those

Jesus calls us to Love our enemies who persecues us & pray for them.

Pray for those that hate us!

Day 19 - Go Now & Leave your Life of Sin

When we enounter God & his Grace, we are to not stay the same!

Leaving Life of Sin: We are called to leave the life of Sin, to be more like Jesus!
