Day 20 - If you Love me, you will Obey my Commands

The more we do what He is asking us to do, the more we find the abundant life we were made for.

Two Approaches:

  • BYSSIW: Because You Said So, I Will? - Doing to & having the feelings later.

  • WWJD: What Would Jesus Do?

Prayer in Practice!

  • When it's Hard!

  • When we don't understand at times!

  • Even when Prayer is Uncomfortable!

Day 21 - If anyone would be first, He must be Last of All & Servant to All

Find a way to put someone else's needs before your own.

Day 22 - When you Give a Dinner, Invite the Poor, Cippled, Lame, Etc.

It's a lot harder to server those referenced about than those we are comfortable with.

Day 23 - Love your Neighbor as Yourself

Matt. 23:39

After Jesus silences the Pharisees, the pharisees got together to question Jesus. Jesus relied with two most important commandments

Love the Lord with all your heart & . . .

Parable/Story of the Good Samaritan & the Jewish Man (Luke 10:25-37)

  • First & Second people: Both "Righteous", a priest & a Levite.

  • Third Person: The Samaritan that helped out the Jew

Note: Samaritans & Jews hate each other.

A neighbor is anyone in need, we are to use our Gifts & Talents to help those out.

Day 24 - Let the Little Children come to Me

We are all to be like kids in God's eyes.

Positive Traits:

  • Sensitive Spirits

  • Genuinely Sorry

Poor in spirit until time has passed whhere we ask for Grace.

Day 25 - I was Sick & You Took Care of Me

Matt. 5: P1: The Beatitudes

  • Blessed are those poor in Spirit . . .

    • For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

  • Blessed are those who Mourn . . .

    • For they will be comforted.

  • Blessed are those who inherit the Earth; hunger & thirst for righteousness . . .

    • For they will be filled.

  • Blessed are those who are merciful . . .

    • For they will be shown mercy.

  • Blessed are those pure in heart . . .

    • For they will see God.

  • Blessed are those who are peacemakers . . .

    • For they are children of God.

  • Blessed are those persecuted because of righteousness . . .

    • For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

  • Blessed are those when they are insulted, persecuted, & falsly accused . . .

    • For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

Day 26 - Let your Light Shine before Others

We are the Salt of the Earth, we need to keep it that way & not lose the saltiness.

If someone eats Corn on the Cob with Salt; those notice the Corn while Salt is an added benefit.
